Awards season is one of my favourite times of the year; however unlike previous years, this year’s Grammys didn’t amaze me like I had hoped. In my opinion, there were only a few hits, and yet plenty of misses that left me thinking – what the *insert curse of choice*.
I used Polyvore to help create a collage of my most loved red carpet moments- although it was hard to choose, here are my top three, from left to right:
Number ⁰1
She is not an artist herself but Mrs John Legend, otherwise known as the beauty-bombshell Chrissy Teigen, effortlessly sparkled in a strapless gold Johanna Johnson gown.
Number ⁰2
The queen herself, Beyonce, wearing a custom lace Michael Costello gown. I feel like this year has been Costello’s year, with multiple of his dresses featured on the red carpet (Tamar Braxton, far left in red). Previously I had only ever seen his pieces on reality TV stars such as Lily Ghalichi.
Number ⁰3
Choosing between Giuliana Rancic, wearing two of the biggest trends right now, orange and lace, by Alex Perry, and Taylor Swift in a chain embellished Gucci gown was the most difficult decision. However, as it is the night for music royalty, Taylor Swift wins my final vote. Although it was predictable and on the safe-side, you just couldn’t take your eyes of this medieval inspired chain gown- even if you tried!
Jessica Alba having a Sex and the City moment in New York city.
Headed to Ralph Lauren’s fashion show, Alba looks stunning and timeless. Definitely channeling her inner Carrie Bradshaw with this look- doesn’t it remind you of Carrie in the souks of Abu Dhabi?

Mesh mash-up / Sheer Bliss
There’s a new take on ‘leaving a little to the imagination’. For those who want to subtly reveal their femininity, this trend, if done right, is much more liberating than baring all.
My favourite: sheer bliss
Gwen Stefani is my style icon when it comes to this trend. The well-placed details of her Stella McCartney jumpsuit hint at a more subtle play of hide and seek.

Mesh mash-ups are an echo of sportswear/goth vibes that scream ‘come and get it’- a trend that is yet to win me over. I’m all for women embracing their bodies, but I just don’t love Kim Kardashian in Veronique Leroy.

One thing is for sure, the trend, if worn right, is super sexy and illusive.
Do you love it – or loathe it?
What does my partner in crime say?
Although she reminds me of Raffaello White Chocolate, Kim K wins hands down.
